Recovery, Adaptation, Mitigation and Planning

In response to Superstorm Sandy, in Spring 2013, Pratt Institute’s Programs for Sustainable Planning and Development (PSPD) initiated a multi-year program of coordinated planning and architectural studios/urban labs, workshops and conferences called “Recovery, Adaptation, Mitigation and Planning [RAMP].” At its core, RAMP is working closely with community partners/clients to develop plans and strategies for rebuilding and adaptation.

Training sessions and workshops will be offered to complement the technical assistance to be provided in the participatory planning, urban design, architectural and development studios. In addition to students, these workshops will be open to practicing design, planning and development professionals, community residents and advocacy groups, and wherever possible undertaken in partnership with other cooperating technical assistance providers, advocacy organizations, professional associations and Community Based Development Organizations.
